Hi, friends!

My name is Janet, but as we continue this journey together, you’ll get to know me as Jay.

I’m a 30-year-old kid at heart, VERY PROUD MEXICAN born and raised in Wisconsin, a mom, a fiancée, an advocate, an activist, a Creative, a small business owner, a cancer survivor, and yes, a Gemini.

More than anything, I’m someone with a lot of feelings. And when I say a lot, I mean my brain is constantly overflowing with thoughts, questions, observations, stories, and opinions. I’ve always needed a place to put them somewhere intentional, where I can slow down, find the right words, and make sense of what’s swirling around in my head.

This little corner of the internet is that place.

Here you’ll find brain dumps, hot takes, life lessons, moments of joy, moments of grief, stories about motherhood, family, growing up, and the messy, beautiful experience of simply being human. Advocacy will find its way in from time to time because it’s part of who I am, but this blog is about so much more than that.

My hope is that “Hey Jay” feels like a judgment-free space. A place where we can be honest, vulnerable, laugh, cry a little, and remind each other that none of us are as alone as we sometimes feel.

If you’ve ever felt too much, overthought everything, or needed someone else to put your feelings into words, I hope you find a little piece of yourself here.

Welcome to Hey Jay. I’m really glad you’re here!
